Scope End, lying in the centre of the picture leads up to the summit of Hindscarth. The pretty valley of Newlands is surrounded by the fells of, from the left, Maiden and High Spy, appearing as one with a plateau between them, Dale Head, and Hindscarth. Robinson is just outside the picture on the right. On the distant horizon, also from the left are: High Raise, Harrison Stickle - beyond Maiden Moor, Pike o'Stickle, Wetherlam - beyond High Spy, Glaramara, Bowfell, Esk Pike, and to the right of Hindscarth, Kirk Fell.
