This shelter just below the summit of Rispa Pike is built to protect one from the prevailing Southwesterlies. Across the valley lie Blease Fell and Hare Shaw. On the horizon beyond these are Greyrigg Common and Whinfell. The original photograph shows the transmitters of the GPO repeater stations on the central mound between the two but the fine detail is not available on this picture.
