After a strenuous day's walking the sudden sharp ascent over the lower part of Angler's Crag seems unwelcome. One can rest for a while to look at the stunning retrospective view of the valley. The dark afforested hump accross the lake is Latterbarrow, below the slopes of Starling Dodd on the extreme left. Beyond are Red Pike, High Stile, High Crag and Hay Stacks, and at the head of the valley, Brandreth. Pillar, Black Crag, Steeple, Little Scoat Fell and Great Scoat Fell are on the right.
