This temple is one of the finest sights in Egypt. Hatshepsut had a long successful and, thanks to her political skills, largely peaceful reign. She was responsible for many public building projects often designed by Senenmut, who was her steward, supervised her daughter's education, was her architect, companion and possibly lover. The location demanded an unusual design of temple and the way the it harmonizes with the landscape pays tribute to Senenmut's vision.
