On the left in the foreground Rannerdale Knotts covers the southern end of Crummock water, Lad Hows is in the centre and the slopes of Grasmoor are to the right. Above the shore across the lake lie the twin summits of Mellbreak. On the horizon lie, from the left, beyond Gale Fell is the western slope of Whoap and Crag Fell (both on the far side of Ennerdale) then comes the bulk of Great Bourne. To the right of that is the small cone of Floutern Cop, then Hen Combe, Gavel Fell, Blake Fell, Carling Knott and Burnbank Fell. Larger version of this picture.
