Pavey Ark - Jack's Rake from Above

Pavey Ark - Jack's Rake from Above
Samsung Zoom Automatic - 35-70mm lens

This is the upper part of Jack's Rake, seen looking down from a point just beside the Pinnacle. The route runs across the rocks in the foreground, to a few feet of ordinary path, before plunging to the left, down the gully. The lip of the gully, which provides protection for the scrambler almost all the way, is clearly seen here. The Rake is usually ascended, rather than descended. The odd, marbled effect in the upper right of the picture is the result of clouds being reflected in Stickle Tarn, 700 feet below. Larger version of this picture.
