Windermere and Coniston Water are clear to see towards the left. The first massif comprises Coniston Old Man, Brim Fell, Wetherlam, Swirl How, Great Carrs and Grey Friar. In the gap lies Ulpha Fell, then the conical peak of Harter Fell, Pike O'Blisco, Crinkle Crags, Bowfell, Scafell, Scafell Pike, Great End, Great Gable (with Great Rigg in the foreground), Kirk Fell, Pillar, High Pike, High Stile and Red Pike (these three as a block) and Dale Head.
